Early in December, the Stamford Hill community hosted Baroness Susan Williams of Trafford on a walkabout tour that emphasised the quality and scope of the local Jewish community services.
The tour was also attended by 15 civil servants from various government departments, including Education (DfE), Culture and the Foreign Office (FCO). Representatives of the Board Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council also attended.
Baroness Williams is the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), and is a Conservative member of the House of Lords.
Ezra Umarpeh was privileged to be a part of her itinerary and for the opportunity to showcase the wonderful services of Ezra Umarpeh.
The Baroness sent Ezra Umarpeh a letter following her visit where she mentioned she “found the service we provide to the community inspiring.”
